Melbourne City Sports -Injuries we treat

There is a very large list of sporting injuries we treat as physiotherapists and myotherapists.

Broadly you can classify the list into three groups.

1. Acute sudden onset injuries

- occurring as a result of a sudden trauma to muscle, cartilage, disc, tendon or ligament.

2. Chronic or recurrent injury

-resulting from repetitive strain which may cause gradual breakdown in the integrity of muscle, tendon and joint tissue with associated  chronic irritation and pain. These injuries are often associated with faulty biomechanics or follow an initial acute injury.

3. Post surgical rehab

- Following orthopaedic surgery you will require a period of rehab to build strength, balance and flexibility. This ensures a safe and speedy return you to your sport.

Your treatment will vary according to the nature of the injured tissue and the mechanism of injury. This is discussed with you following your initial appointment and assessment by your Physio.

Below is  list of some of the more specific conditions commonly seen. It is by no means complete and if you have any questions you are best to contact us and ask whether Physio may help you.
